What a day. To say the least.
Nu. I was in the Gush [settlement area in the Gaza strip] yesterday, accompanying a pro-settler group from Noo-yawk City that was touring the area.
Hey hun-ny. So yah a re-portah? Whod yah write fo? [heavy Broolyn accent]. Took pics of the settlements. Took pics of two holocaust survivors who happened to be with the group. We was in Auschwitz together. Heres my tattoo
Got the Palm Beach Hotel photos - they aren't letting journo's in but cos I was with the group, I got in.
It was like one of those NGO township tours, not very exciting. Later I was at lunch when I got a call from Ilan, a journo I had made contact with last week. We met up and went for a drive, discussing how we could work together.
Theyre shooting kassams at the settlement," he said. "Lets drive around, maybe well spot something, take some stills, get em to an agency. Ya never know.
So after about an hour of chasing rockets, I kid you not, we spotted an ambulance. It nearly ran us off the road trying to get past. We turned round and gave chase. Minutes later we arrived on the scene

One of the workers killed in the Ganei Tal settlement was Palestinian and the other was Chinese. All wounded were Palestinian, two of them sustaining critical wounds and the other four sustaining moderate injuries.
A third worker, a Palestinian, died of his wounds Tuesday evening in the hospital.
The Islamic Jihad militant group claimed responsibility for the attack, Israel Radio reported.

So thats your first bombing, huh, asked Ilan?
Ya, I replied.
sigh. Welcome to paradise.
I got a lift back to Jerusalem with some journos who were with the tour. You were at the bombing?! Why didnt you tell us?! Shit! Its the only news that happened today!
I sent my pics to my agency. Hope they can use em. Ill post them to my yahoo photos page. Maybe leave the gruesome ones out. Dead bodies, blood and bits of flesh splattered everywhere.
My surreal day in Gaza. Sigh
