I went to work on Monday - a half day as it was Erev Rosh haShanah. I think I will have fun there. The company is called Algorithmic Research.
Their tech is interesting [data encryption] and they have some very big clients. I find myself challenged which has not happened for many years. The people I work with are mainly techies and seem to be a bright bunch. That in itself is stimulating.
Also, I believe that the environment at AR is a lot more positive than the paranoid religious company I last worked at - RCS.
I am so happy to be with a company that has active marketing campaigns in place, and the budget to accomplish them.
On my first day I commissioned an SEO company to review our site, edited presentations, reworked photographs, and updated html code on the company site. Tasks that would have taken months to accomplish at RCS; if at all.
My job title: MarComs Director! Who would thought? It looks good on my CV. Considering my experience and age it's about time I made some progress in terms of my career, love life, and financial status.
I want to spend the next few months working with my nose to the grindstone as well as doing hebrew and computer graphic courses after hours.
I also want to work on my health. I say cos I is siek. No, not a rabbinical curse, just the flu. So hab bocked doze; fevre etc. I smoked quite a few cigarettes on the jol. Not good. So it's a sign... I need to focus on getting myself ready for a big year and I can't do this if I am ill.
