A Year of Debauchery
WOW...it's been a realllly long time since I've blogged! I'm sorry if I've sucked at being a good lil member lately. So anyway, on to a semi-brief readers digest version of what's been happening in my life in the past 5 months.
The title really isn't misleading, I'll get to all that in a bit.
January was nothing exciting, I never make any resolutions, and I didn't change this year either. So it was a pretty standard alcohol fueled month at work.
February is where things got interesting. So I met this girl, from near my hometown, on a site very similar to this one. We chatted for a couple weeks and exchanged #s and we were hitting it off quite well. In less than a month, we had fallen in love...or something like that.
Since my birthday is in March, I decided to take 10 days off from work and go home and see the family and the new girlfriend. I couldn't take off the week of my bday, so I had to take the week before....stoopid work! Anyway, it so happened that I would be arriving on new girl's bday. She was so excited, I think she might have actually peed herself, lol. So when I got home, I stayed a few days at her place...it was fun She seemed to be great...an amazing cook, very sweet and loving, banging lil body, stone cold freak, and a whole bag of crazy, just my type! But things went great. I spent some time with my family, got to chew out my sister for being an idiot, cause the rest of my family was scared to provoke her. (Yeah, I'm that guy in my family, but I love it cause none of them will fuck with me) Flew back to Phoenix and worked the day before, of, and after my birthday
April was one ridiculously insane month. I got put on night shift, which isn't bad, I actually kind of like it. But things were just retarded. I was working between 12 and 16 hours a night 6, sometimes 7 days a week. So needless to say, after work I didn't do much. But somehow, I managed to squeeze in copious amounts of drinking, which I like to call "stress relief", I find "binge drinking" to be mildly offensive, lol. Not only was I getting stress from work, but the new girlfriend began to have trust issues. You can all throw the bullshit flag if you want, but I will swear on whatever religious faith you hold dear, that I, to this day, have never cheated on a girl. However, I couldn't stop her mind from wandering. She started getting mad that I didn't talk to her enough, apparently a phone call a day and multiple text messages just wasn't cutting it for her, she sought to consume all the free time that I needed for sleep.
So May rolls around and girlfriend goes completely bat shit crazy! Out of nowhere, she calls me and tells me she's canceled her lease and is planning on moving to Phoenix this summer, so I need to start looking for a house we can live in! Yeah!!!! Blew me away! She went from saying we should end it so we're not wasting each others time to moving half way across the country to live with me! (For any women who have actually read this far, could you enlighten me on how that's logical to a women? I really mean no offense, I would like to know) That's when I told her maybe we needed to step back and slow down a bit. She didn't care for that, and that's when the fireworks really began. It ended with me asking her to please mail back my belongings and never call me again. Which she didn't call, she texted me every few minutes for the next 4 hours while I tried to sleep. (Seriously, she sent me over 120 texts that day!) But all that drama is over now!
On to the fun part of my year! I absolutely love my job, it allows me to take off the entire summer and play! No, I'm not a teacher, but if you would like to know what it is I do, feel free to ask. I'd explain now, but it's already turning into a memoir and not a blog.
I'm taking my well deserved time away from work to rock my face off! This weekends...Rockfest KC, the biggest one day rock concert in the US. Then Rock on The Range and Hell City Killumbus! Who's going? I've got 2 extra VIP tickets to ROTR, including hotel, if anyone is interested. Then at the end of the month, Flyleaf. In June, Pointfest in STL, then maybe Bonnaroo, and finishing the month off with TOOL!!! And July will be Mayhem Fest and whatever else I decide to do. If you know of any other amazing shows going on or other fun stuff to see, let me know. And traveling's not a big deal, I'll be all over the country as it is!
So in closing, of what appears to be a small book, everything in life is once again glorious! I'll leave you with a little pearl of wisdom a man once told me, "It's better to burn out than fade away."
