Saw Iron Maiden on Saturday and they were A-mazing! I'm not their biggest fan but even I can admit that they put on damn fine show! Bruce kept changing his outfits - well not a complete change but like coats and cloaks and masks and tops and the background kept changing too, depending on what song they sang. Eddie appeared twice, one from a sygophagus (sp) at the back of the stage and it looked like he was trying to crawl out and a second time he walked across the stage during the encore, all done up in his time traveller/cyborg outfit!
The supporting acts were: Lauren Harris - she was ok, Within Temptation who were amazing, I always go tingly when I hear their stuff! And Avenged Sevenfold who I've never heard before but they were great!
The audience were really funny too! There were so many men that I thought were women to start with, not just because they had long hair and kept flicking it in a girly manner, but because of the pink tshirts and stuff they were wearing! There were also a lof of gay chaps there, the chap who sat next door to me had that aura about him and he came up and sat next to me and crossed his legs and later on he was moisterising!
We had an older couple who had brought they teenage son and once the woman got liquored up on beer and wine she was well away, telling people to stand up, trying to do the devil fingers and getting it wrong everytime!
There were a couple of chaps at the front who I thought were just enthusiastic because they kept jumping up, doing devil fingers to the stage and screaming everytime a song came on and I thought wow their going to be knackered by the time Maiden come on, then they tried to clap for sevenfold and completely missed their own hands, it was hilarious and at that point I realised just how pissed they were!
And finally the air guitar man! People who had standing tickets could come to the bottom of the chairs and this one man kept running along our sections waving at people, trying to get people to stand up and then started to air guitar to the crowd (think the episode of the Simpsons where Homer is the dancer for the crowd at a football match or something). At one point he had a couple of beers and a girl ran down to him, whizzed past security and gave him a hug, I was like ahhhh air guitar mans found love, then she stole a bottle of beer drank all of it, gave him the empty bottle back and ran back to her seat! Hilarious!!
We finally got home at 3am, it took us 1/2 an hour to walk to the car park, and hour to get out of the car park and then 3 hours to get home! Totally worth it though!
Sunday we made vanilla icecream from scratch and it tastes realllllllly yummy!
