"I am commited to creating caring experiences...every person, everytime"
No I'm not crazy, thats the Ramada Worldwide pledge i had to take last night at training. It's like being part of a secret society without all the perks!
So the training session wasn't too bad, but was more like a team building exercise, there were sweets and a cuddly toy for the person who did the most.
There were people from all departments c+e, restaurant, house-keeping, reception and kitchen and we were mixed up and put into 2 groups, we then had to introduce the person next to us to the rest of the group with their name, department and a fun fact. After that we had to watch a presentation and were given scenarios that we had to come up with "what we'd do" etc. It was cool except the lady who was in charge on my table kept ignoring my suggestions which really peed me off because they were good, at first I thought she couldn't hear me even though she sat next to me but then it became apparent after the 5th time that she was ignoring me, grrr, oh well!
So the conclusion is that Ramada is taking on the Macdonalds thing where every restaurant is identical, uniform, layout etc, they are doing that with the hotel, they want people to feel at home whether they are in Dubai, America or Norwich. We'll see how that goes!
Petes gone away for the w/end he's going to York and an air show or something, but he will be back on Sunday!! Until then I will have to amuse myself with work, reading and watching movies!
