so its been a while since my last blog..quite a bit has happened since then, my roomate got sent so a concussion tent on another FOB because of a IED blast to his vehicle. we, as route clearance, have a truck called a husky and its a mine detection vehice with room for only one person to be in and he took a double stacked anti-tank landmine to the right front corner. sent the front axle and tires and digging arm about 12' away. blast was so big it blew the top hatch open, and the sad thing is i knew it was gunna happen so i started recording on my camera. the area has been seeded with IEDs for some time now and was the same area i took my blast on our first day out. this is a hell of a job field to be in and were only 5 months in and our so called quiet area is starting to heat up with insurgent activity. i'm just glad i get to go back to washington in december and see my puppies. i miss them so much but its good because the foster lady that is watching them sends me letters about once a week from their perspective. its adorable and boosts my morale every time i read one. i got two letters from G&K today! ive also lost 25 lbs since i been over here! pretty amazing but i can see why..always wearing gear and out on the road with not much to eat will cut down anybodys appetite. not to mention going to the gym also. well if yall wanna know more i'm sure you'll be leaving me comments and feel free any of you, to ask me more about route clearance and/or afghanistan. i'm more than happy to share stories..
