month 2 here in afghan and ive already seen more on the first day than the two years i was in iraq..this place is no joke, these boys want to fight..and fight dirty....using 50-350lbs of home made explosive bombs buried who knows where..and as route clearance we have to be expected to find them..the easy way or the hard way..so far ive personally found 2 the hard way....got a bit shook up but no big deal keep on going. its starting to cool down here too it only gets in the high 90's now rather than the scorching 122 degrees recorded on my digital thermometer last month.
i miss my puppies, but i was lucky enough to have them sponsored by a site called www.guardianangelsforsoldierspets.org they were able to connect me up with a lady in eastern washington who has 20 acres of land for them to run and play on and she is taking real good care of them too..strict as she should be when their "alpha male pack leader" is away. she sends me letters written from their perspectives, its really great..puts me in an awesome mood every time, its like their right by my side when i read them. shes also nicknamed me "Romeo"....now i wonder whats thats all about?
