I am aware that Suicidedoggie and Nickysonic are probably the only people I know here old enough to remember this one shocked but I'm currently singing along to "Come up and see me" by Steve Harley and Cockney Rebel.

Nicky is probably running around his room right now desperately searching for a Velvet Underground record to put on and blot out the memory of that one,...

I love that tune, nothing wrong with a bit of that

That was pretty much what I used to like about Wakefield/Leeds, as you could get anywhere on the bus and for pennies too. Here in Salisbury, there's few buses, and bloody expensive. 8 a day to get to work and back is not my idea of a joke.

Update on this evenings news:

I got home from work at 5.30 to find my front door wide open and my apartment pretty much trashed. The thieves who broke in even attempted to knock down the dividing wall between my bedroom and the landing to get in. In a way, I'm thankful they got the door open before they broke through the wall.

They only...

Of course. It was just a vague "I'm going out..do you wanna come" kind of things.

Are you up for Saturday's fun and games?
mad_scientist:
Poor dear, I can't imagine how furious you must be. It's not the missing stuff it's the violation. I'll tell you my theft story in hopes of adding a little levity:

The only thing I've ever had stolen was some expensive brakes off of one of my racing bikes back in college. A friend at a party told me who it was... and much to my surprise the creep was riding his bike around campus with MY brakes on it. The nerve! I used my BMX experience to ride up beside him one day on the way to class and pushed him off his bike and face first into a brick wall at about 25 mph. I was told later he lost a tooth. About a hundred other students saw me do this and I just smiled and rode off. I didn't even want the brakes back. Needless to say no one messed with me during the rest of my tenure at the university.

I hope Karma comes back around to bite your thieves in the ass (or teeth) too. biggrin

I've been burgled.

Needless to say I am uber fucked off right now.

The only saving grace is the little shits didnt find my laptop.

Now all I have to do is persuade a police officer to show up. I'm on my third call to the station.

My patience is rapidly running out.

BASTARDS. I hope they get them, but given my motorcycle plus 8 weeks later my neighbours and they still haven't done anything. Hands to be cut off.

(You hide your laptop too? I was begining to wonder if I was OCD).

Same as the excellent cdt21; let me know if you need anything.

Time for bed and it's still 20 degrees.

Urgh.

I've travelled in countries far hotter than the UK but nowhere I've been beats this place for uncomfortable night time humidity.

Still I have a whole double bed all to myself so finding a cold spot on the sheets cant be too hard can it?

Multi-tasking is not good for me. surreal

Particularly when it involves using one side of my brain to calculate the tax payable on a clients project whilst the other side of my brain is engaged in a conversation with a different client about how to present confidence tests on statistical tables.

I need a cold beer and a dark, quiet room to drink it in. surreal

Ha! No I didn't have that pecker tattooed! I like it fine the way it is! wink

ymonster was asking how my woodpecker tattoo was doing.

In the likely event that you knew this and were just teasing, the above statement was simply excuse to mention my pecker.

I am going to be the office grump this morning.

I am surrounded by a bunch of chattering girls, discussing, much louder than is actually required, their adventures in weekend shopping and how useless their boyfriends are because they didnt enjoy said shopping. puke

I'd rather be listening to the boys talking about football but sadly none of them are in.

God, give me strength.

Or...

This weekend has had its ups (meeting cool new people like NikkiDanger) and its downs (the quite appalling excuse for beer that was being sold in the pub last night), and sadly I missed out on what sounds like a rather raucous SGUK meet.

Nuts!

Quite literally if the rumours are to be believed. wink
