9.00am
There have been explosions at 5 tube stations and on 1 bus in London this morning. I am safe at the office for the moment but if anything else happens we will be evacuating the office early and I'll be walking home.
Latest Update From SKY News
~~~~~~~~~~
Update at 10.33am: Met Police have confirmed the bus explosion near Tavistock Place, Central London. Unconfirmed reports are filtering through of 3 more bus explosions.
~~~~~~~~~~
Update at 10.49am: The National Grid have confirmed that there were no faults on the electrical grid that could have caused the explosions in the tube stations.
~~~~~~~~~~
Update at 11.09am: The Police Commissioner has told us not to leave the building.
~~~~~~~~~~
Update at 11.29am: The Army Bomb Disposal Squad has been called to Covent Garden tube station, 5 minutes from my office.
~~~~~~~~~~~
Update at 11.37am: Swindon and Brighton railway stations (both about an hour from London) have been evacuated. Bus services in Central London have been suspended. The tube network is closed completely.
~~~~~~~~~~~
Update at 11.50am: Al Qaeda have claimed responsibility according to Arab news sources. However, as they would claim responsibility for a stray party popper at a bar mitzvah I'm taking this with a pinch of salt.
~~~~~~~~~~~
12.05pm We are evacuating the office. I will be back home and hopefully back online in an hour and a half.
~~~~~~~~~~~~
Update at 14.10: I am now home. The worst appears to be over. All public transport in Central London is closed down but the buses are still running south of the river.
Bombs have been confirmed at 6 tube stations and on 1 bus with one other device being deactivated by the bomb disposal unit.
150 people have been seriously injured. 2 confirmed dead at Aldgate station.
Bus drivers took some of the injured to hospital on their buses as ambulances took only the most seriously injured. Off duty doctors from as far afield as Oxford have come into London to help out at local hospitals.
Londoners are used to being bombed. The Luftwaffe didnt defeat us, neither did the IRA. Al Qaeda is not going to succeed where they failed.
~~~~~~~~
Update at 15.22: The initial reports of 6 explosions at 6 seperate stations is now thought to be inaccurate. The BBC are reporting that there were in fact 4 explosions on 4 trains but because they happened in tunnels the sounds echoed to several stations and were reported as seperate incidents.
Death toll now thought to be approx 40.
~~~~~~~~
Update at 15.35: Bus services are starting to run again in Central London. The Docklands Railway is back up and running. Tube lines unaffected by the bombs should be up and running late tonight / early tomorrow.
The terrorists can kiss the collective London arse. You cant keep us down!

"Don't let the bastards grind you down"
Take care
Edited note: Yes, I know Winston didn't say that himself.
