Even though I am not an SG yet, I thought I might as well have a little fun and join in with the awesome weekly blog topics that are being given out by @missy and @rambo. This way you all get to know me and it will give me something to talk about each week, even when I have nothing particularly fun happening haha.
1. I have always had a fascination with blood, gore and horror. This started out as a harmless horror movie obsession and it slowly twisted into an interest in Asphyxiophilia, Vampirism and especially Odaxelagnia. I have to say a big thank you to Anne Rice to bringing just about all of my fantasies to life in her writings. Her Vampire Chronicles were the start of something very special for me.
2. I have a collection of vampire teeth. I have five different pairs, each with a different look and length. Here is my favourite combination, classic short vampire fangs with Underworld style lateral incisors:
3. I am a fully qualified nail technician. I can work wonders with acrylic and used my talents to create a niche market by turning boring sets of nails into 3D pieces of art. I owned my own business for a while, but not being a driven person I soon grew short in the motivation for success department and went back to finding a regular paid job.
4. I am scared of fish. I bought myself a fish a few years ago to help me get over the fear. His name is killer, I raised him from a baby and can now hand feed him but I still can't face the ocean or even water that I can't see through in the fear of fish touching my feet.
5. I am allergic to just about everything in nature, which makes me so very sad. I love the outdoors but I suffer from bad hayfever and am even allergic to grass and most plants. I am especially allergic to wheat, mosquito bites and animals, oh and bees! These don't stop me from being outdoors as much as I can and from loving and cuddling my dogs every chance I get haha. I am actually finding that my tolerance is getting much higher to most things the more I expose myself to them now that I am getting older which is awesome!
6. I am a witch. I don't fly a broom or have warts but I do practice witchcraft in the from of Wicca, a nature based Pagan religion. People almost never know that Wicca is a nature worshipping religion and often see it as something Satanic or conniving. In a nut shell I believe that we all share the same spirit, as does the Earth and every living thing on it. I believe in the circle of life and and respecting the way the natural world works; or should work, if we could only stop interfering with it. I feel a deep connection to the earth and have a deep love for life in general.
7. I have the most amazing little sister in the world. Sometimes I think we were meant to be identical twins and that we actually share one brain, although we were born two years apart and look nothing alike lol. She is every bit as crazy as I am! We finish each others sentences and even laugh the same way. I couldn't imagine life without this girl...
We started out normal once (In the school portrait I'm on the left) but now we just cant take a straight faced photo together! I swear this was the best I could find haha.
8. I have compound fractures in my T4 and T5 Vertebrae. I was once in a bad car accident (not my fault) and fractured my spine. It is unfixable and is likely to cause me pain later in life but for now I'm great! Though the two years of recovery were not fun haha. As a result I am even less flexible than I was to begin with and have a hard with a few things but mostly only in the winter months when it can get quite achy. I also busted up my teeth as my car did not have air bags so I gave the steering wheel a kiss on impact. Not the best experience but I do respect the roads even more so now and am a very safe driver because of it.
9. I have never smoked a cigarette or tried any form of drugs. My parents, being far from conservative, don't even drink. I was just raised to be myself, and and enjoy being myself without outside influences like that. So I never went through that experimental teenage stage which is where I guess most people start. It helped that I had an amazing lot of misfit friends who pushed against the mould and came out of high school without being tainted by peer pressure. Besides, I was crazy enough with out all that fun stuff ;) Then, in adult life I never felt the need to try anything, I guess it's just not me. Except for whiskey of course... Teacher, Mother. Secret lover. *drool*
10. I collect random things! I have a collection of Alice's adventures in wonderland and through the looking glass books, a collection of vintage tea cup trios and tea pots, a collection of skulls and skull jewellery and finally a collection of corsets... I thought you would all like these, sp here nis a picture of my favourite corsets
