Today I thought I would tell you all about my arm tattoo.
This is the tattoo I get stopped for and asked questions about the most. The first thing people usually say is 'cool wolf' or 'beautiful, why a wolf?' which I always have an inner giggle at, because its not a wolf at all, however I am always happy to hear about how cool or beautiful my girl looks in her memorial portrait.
This was my dog Skullie (aka Skull). She was an Alaskan malamute, wolf descendant, yes, but a very different canine.
This tattoo was done in Melbourne at a tattoo and body art expo by my wonderful Perth tattoo artist Kat Abdy. What a wonderful job she did on this very important and emotional tattoo for me. She's an angel!
Funny story Skullies name was originally Sophie but I had a cousin named Sophie and I thought it in bad taste to double up so I began thinking. The first thing my dad said on meeting her was that she looked likeshe had a skull painted on her face and since I was (and still am) a huge X-Files fan so Skullie it was! I spelt it differently for the two meanings and kept it Skull for short.
She was a very strong, stubborn and head strong girl, we had a few differences; mostly because we were so alike but also because of my love for adopting dogs and her love for being alone. Haha. She was a good sport though, we had a lot of dogs come and go but we always stuck together. Of course along with Chrissy her adopted sister who dispute the bad way in which I adopted her, her age and her health managed to out live them all.
I miss them a lot. Soon I will be getting Chrissy tattooed on the same arm for her memorial. it will be so nice to see them together in memory on my arm.
Here is a picture of Skullie and I in her last days. Wasn't she beautiful?
Now for some fun photos! Here is me pre-tattoos. i did have my bad shoulder tattoos and a few on my head but this was taken about a month before I got my 'Foxy lady', my first big tattoo.
I look so young... And innocent! Lol
This one is a little fun pun up project I did also just before I got my big tattoos. I just love this photo!
Well that's the tale and bout the 'Mysterious wolf tattoo' tune in next week for another inthraling tattoo Tuesday.
I'm Wick, thanks for reading:)
Haha love to you all xxx
