I do not celebrate Christmas, well at least not in the Christain way and certainly not at this time of the year. None of this stops December from being my favourite time of year!
I adore the seasonal colours, the hot summer sun, warm nights, the songs and the cheer; but above all my absolutely favourite part of this time of year is these guys...
With my windows open to try and catch the warm night breeze on my hot skin as I sleep, the sounds of cicadas singing to potential mates below the sill and the slight tinging of christmas beetles tapping the windows mistakingly on their midnight flights... this is what makes the December nights magickal.
I saw my first December Cicada yesterday and just had to pick him up for a cuddle!
Definitely the best time of year!
