After ten years my husband and I have come to the mutual decision to part ways. It's sad, and scary, but will be best for the both of us and for our son. We still love each other, he's still my best friend and we will always be a part of each others lives. But we both understand that it is better to be apart and happy and able to focus that joy on our son, than to struggle to maintain the ideal we can't live up to.

No one wants to talk about it but it happens, couples drift apart, maybe fall out of love, lose that connection. I'm struggling with that right now and if not for our son probably wouldn't still be together. Sounds like you knew what needed to be done and am doing the right thing.
