Things at game stop are progressing well. I was finally trained on the registers, now I just need to learn how to pitch. I'm not a very pushy person, which isn't a good thing in this field. If someone doesn't want to know about our discount card, I'm not going to force it down their throat. I guess I need to learn to be more agressive in that sense.
I had an interview at the Avenue(a plus sized clothing store). And I have to say, it was the least professional interview I've ever been to. She litterally asked me zero questions about myself or my abilities. She was so caught up in talking about herself(in a strangely defensive/confrontational way), that she apparently forgot to ask me the standard interview questions. I can't imagine that she's just that great a judge of character that she doesn't have to ask any questions. I felt so weird having to volunteer information about myself. And she looked slightly annoyed when I did so. I will be finding out friday whether or not I got the job. If the store manager is the one to call me, and tells me that I didn't get it, I will be sure to tell her exactly how unprofessional her "co-manager" was, when conducting the interview, and that she couldn't possibly know that i wasn't right for the job, simply because she didn't ask me ANY questions.
All the woman talked about was how, she and her manager have been a team for the past 2 years, and that new people need to come into the job with teamwork in mind, and how, if I couldn't handle the prospect of selling their credit card, then I need not waste her time, or my own by completing the interview. She also went on to verbally bash some of her co-workers, telling me how they are too afraid to ask people if they'd be interested in the credit card, and that she often jumps in and gets the customers to sign up, so she can take the credit for it.
Now, she totally doesn't seem like the type of person I want to work for. But I want to work for that store SO BADLY, I need new clothes, and a 31% discount is pretty sweet. Apparently they are checking my references, and if I can get three posistives, I'll be hired. So yeah, here's hoping. I think.
It's cold.
I get my first paycheck tomorrow.
My SG account expires on the 23rd, so I'm still trying to decide if I should renew. I *want* to, but I desperatley need work clothes and shoes, and my check is going to be really small. I might be able to talk Derek into hooking me up...we'll see.
Have a great weekend guys.
