I was lucky enough to go away to Cape Town this weekend with Lunar and Talamia to stay at this amazing place called The White House. It was absolutely stunning!

I highly recommend it if anyone is planning a trip down there.
Needless to say we had loads of fun.
With no one around to bother us, it felt like the most peaceful place in the world! We did get Lunar hooked on Plants vs Zombies ... luckily for us there was no Zombie apocalypse on Saturday or we would have been screwed lol. The whole place is made of wood and glass.
Although with the lack of people in the town it almost felt like the rapture had come...haha.
We managed to check out Vaudeville one night, and although they don't have their proper full show running at the moment they had some very impressive acts on during dinner. I'm always amazed at how easy people can make these things look. There were quite a few aerial acts, from girls in hoops to gymnastic guys on ropes. I can't wait to go back and see a full show.
And now for some pics of the trip.
Talamia has much better ones of course but this is what I got on my phone

Oh and we decided to take Xaosnyte along too just in case there was a Zombie Apocalypse because he is really good with a sword

This was the creepiest house in the town...
You will have to see this pic at full size to fully appreciate all the incredibly odd decorations this place has in its garden.... It appears they have liking for mannequins and clothing, oh and lets not forget the cross in the background...

On our way back on the last day we stopped at this cute little place for lunch.
Turns out they have a whole menagerie of animals there including Lions and Tigers! Who knew.
So of course we had to check it out...

Apparently bunnies like Lunar hehe (although who doesnt
)

A bad pic of the female White Lion...
They had a pair of white lions and pair of brown ones

And saving the best for last, they had two 8 month old golden tiger cubs. Lunar and I spent the entire time gushing over how cute they were. They were even purring!! They may appear big for 8 months but they get a whole lot bigger!! Also I've never actually seen golden tigers before. I think they may be the most beautiful of all. You get the usual orange with black stripes and White with black stripes, then you get these ones. White with golden brown stripes. How anyone can kill something this beautiful I will never ever understand!
Some random interesting info, the guy who runs the place let his 5 year old son go right up to the fence and stroke and play with them. We were all quite shocked, but he informed us that while you could never ever do that with lions, tigers are actually quite social and love the physical attention. He says they although both the lions and tigers were hand reared, the lions only see us as a herd and therefore prey, while the tigers do not.
Of course this is not true when they are in the wild and have had no contact with humans

Anyways after a very successful weekend in Cape Town, we arrived back in Joburg exhausted but happy.
I did not make it to work this morning however as I now have the flu
Completely my own fault I suppose, as I was running around naked at dawn on the beach in the middle of winter
