I was driving around tonight, ok, not around - I'm a good tree hugger, I had a purpose... Anyway, I was listening to AirAmerica radio as I do alot right now with the elections and all, and one of the hosts callers said something that really struck me...
I think that the one core value that the Right Wing A#$ Wipes really honestly have is that no matter what, they really believe that the ENDS JUSTIFY THE MEANS.....
That struck me like a bolt of lightning... It's so damn obvious but even so, I was always in a state of quasi shock when ever I hear them outright lie and make almost anything up... I can't even imaging saying some of the stuff they say to my best friend about my worst enemy in a private setting...
How the hell do you compete against people that will do this, especially when the reality is that with so many people in this country not being critical thinkers, listening to FOX and most of Corporate owned media, who start to believe things after they hear them a number of times... It's an old advertising trick from Marketing 101... Just look at those damn Head On ads, or if you're old enough, those old Where's the beef ads... When things are said often enough, people start to feel like that the message must be true since they have been hearing it so much..
As much as I would love people across this country to be smart and critical thinkers and really evaluate things rather than buy crap on corporate media biased outlets, that's just not the country we live in, at least it's not the majority.... I really think that we have to beat these assholes at their own game and not be afraid of calling out McCain for the real asshole, opportunist that he is... Any examination of his life, past, or political record shows how insane it would be for anyone making less than 250K/year to have him as a president... Actually, even for people above, I always wonder how much their money will really mean to them if the Republicans really succeed in destroying this country... I think they really believe that their money can insulate them from all the troubles us peons have.... They truly want to set the clock back to the 1800's... Actually, they have a lot in common with the Taliban, Sandi's, and any Fascist regime, and yet so many people who will be directly and badly hurt still buy their crap and vote against their own best interests.
The other thing that drives me insane is how any woman can ever vote for these idots... In my opinion, the whole Pro/Anti choice thing should not be up for public debate or be something that a bunch of old men in robes can have any say in.... This issue should only be one that women can speak and choose to make laws on... If McCain get's in, it's an absolute that at least 2-3 Supreme Court justices will be replaced in his 1st term... Given that they will all absolutely be radically right, Roe Vs. Wade will be overturned in a heartbeat... McCain even says that this is his intent.... I can not believe that women are not in an absolute uproar on this... You know if Men were the ones to get pregnant, this would never even be an issue and there would never be a question about taking away personal choice.... And what's so sad is that this will so disproportunatly affect middle and lower income women... You know rich women will just fly off to someplace that it's legal... (Pretty much every other modern democracy on the planet)...
There is so much at stake in this election... I think it's time we pulled out all the stops and start beating up on McCain... Being positive is a lovely goal and I truly wish the world was that way, but it's not, and we're going to loose if we don't get that through our heads.... I would much rather be accused of going negative, than being a naieve sucker who threw away another election to another underhanded republican halfwitt just because we continue to refuse to recognize or believe that more than 50% of the country are not the kind of rational, critical thinking, progressively minded people that we are....
Sorry for the rant... I'm just so damn pissed at these assholes for destroying our country, killing our soldiers and anyone who does not "look like them", hurting all of us, doing anything they want, and getting away with it because we're too nice.... Time to get mad and mean in my book.. Time to treat everything they do the way they would react if we did it..... We need to stop being afraid of telling the truth just because McCain supposedly served his country and was a POW... If you look into things in his service, alot of the gloss comes off and he looks like the crappy, dumb, opportunist, angry old jerk that he is..
