I have decided I am going to be getting a tattoo before I take my leave of Portland at the end of this contract (I'm sure I'll be back). I have brief glimmerings of what I want, but nothing defined in its entirety just yet. I'm wanting tribal ... I'm leaning towards something with a bear track ... but I've not yet seen anything on the wall or on the various tatoo pattern sites that have called to me. Also, location is up in the air ...
I've always been partial to bears ... see "Brian" technically means "strength", and most tribes associate bears with strength.
Plus, I like the way bears move ... usually lumbering, slow ... but when the need arises, they are quick to act and you better hope one's not chasing you down ... I feel like that most times ... like I'm deceptively slow, but when need be ... I guess you could say they are my totem. for lack of a better word. What's your favorite animal? Why? (i've seen that question asked in a thousand journals, so figured it was time to ask it myself )
A bear track itself is typically representative of a "good omen" ... I didn't find that out until recently (after I decided I wanted a bear track) ... wonder what that says about me.
Also been thinking about getting an "ear tunnel' (finally figured out what those things are called) ... like this, but I've not sold myself completely yet ...
Any ideas? Any artists want to help me on a tattoo design?

or am I confusing my mythoses? (is that a word? i dunno)
h
"In classical Latin the word is only attested in the ablative plural mths; in post-classical Latin the nominative singular form mythos is recorded (5th cent.). "
so, somebody with more knowledge of Latin than I, please let me know what the nominative plural form is.
thanks
