the rain slams down
thunder burns in my ears

bloodied cheeks
streaking clothes
fists unfurl

inhale
prepared to exhale
prepared for winter
prepared to cop the blow
lungs
about to expire
hesitate

a ray of light
hits my brow
warmth flooding to my core
open my eyes
see a sliver of light

it's all it takes

renewed faith
renewed hope

perfect timinig

lifting a heavy head
allowing my face to bask
in this small saviour of sunlight
rain no longer falls


newfound strength
i can stand
i can run
i can walk
i can fly

the sunshine is coming
the sunshine is mine
the day is ours
and the time
is now
