Friday was a dear friend's birthday party at Cha Cha Cha in Los Feliz. I got her this. I also got very drunk off sangria.
Saturday morning I went on another of the L.A. Conservancy's walking tours. This one was titled "The Historic Core." Sites covered (among others) were the Subway Terminal Building, the Broadway Department Store, Grand Central Market (if you ever have a yen to visit a disembodied boar's head), the Million Dollar Theater, and the Bradbury Building. Did you know that the Bradbury Building's architect was Forrest J. Ackerman's grandfather?
Then, yesterday evening I dropped by our wonderful friend Shard's birthday shindig at a very fun little bar. He was a sweetheart, and I bought him a drink, as did OBD. Two people I knew from the previous night's birthday party were at the bar as well, completely by accident. It's a very tiny world.
I have all sorts of boring chores to attend to before I leave on Saturday for Lake Tahoe. I'll be there five days and four nights. I simply cannot wait to do some skiing, which I haven't done in almost eight years. I hope I'm not horribly out of practice....
