Two stories, one some may find interesting, some may not; another kind of bad or more sad.
The first: I met my new neighbor today. I thought that there was more than one because I've been hearing a young woman for the past five or six nights usually at about 2:00 or 3:00 am. Ecstacy type sounds. Pretty load too. Anyway, I'm coming in the building today and she's coming out of her apartment. She says "hi, I'm Soandso, you must be the guy that lives above me..blah blah yada yada...I can hear you playing guitar sometime, I hear your friends and you walking around sometimes". I don't think I said more than three words in five minutes. Finally I said "so do you and your roommate like it hear so far? She says "It's nice. But I'm hear all by myself right now. Have been since two days after I moved in. My sister was here the first two days to help me move. A friend of mine is supposed to move in next month, but I don't know if it's sure yet. Go to go to work, nice to meet you, talk to ya later.
So.....she's been alone for all those nights and been that noisy.
OK. That's....cool....She's loud as hell by herself!!! When I rub 'em out, I don't make any noise. I'm sure it's different for women, wow. Has anybody else experienced this or are you loner moaner?
Second story: This kind of took me a little off guard mainly because it involves a good friend of mine. Last night she called me kind of late and asked to get a massage. Odd because it was late and because she has never asked for one before and we've known each other for a while.
I said I could arrange something for the morning and she says no, she needs to have it now, please. She sounded odd and I was kind of concerned so I agreed to do it. Well I get there with my equipment, set up and she's kind of just standing there acting very odd. She's acting so weird it's making me uncomfortable so I ask what's up. She let's out a huge sigh and says,"OK, do you know how to give a proper breast examine? I think I got a lump, I think. It feels like it shouldn't be there. I just want someone who might know something to confirm it. So do you know how to tell?". (No, I didn't get this from Fight Club)
When I was studying for my certification, I had to take two classes on breast examination. For what ever reason it was part of the curriculum. But, you're only taught how to distinguish normal tissue from abnormal tissue of course and how to advise someone to consider seeking medical consultation. And I tell her that that is all I know how to do.
She then tells me her mother had to have both of her breasts removed and starts to tell me how scared she is about it. She's crying and as she talks she get worse because she doesn't have any insurance, she doesn't have a regular doctor, and please just check her so she can confirm she needs to see a doctor.
I tell her if she thinks she found something, she should go to a doctor as soon as she can, at least to ease her stress. She starts to get mad and she says "Just please do the damn exam!!". So I do the check and sure enough I almost immediately find a lump about the size of a pea, and then another about the same size in one breast, and three smaller ones in the other .
So today one of our other friends got her scheduled with her doctor for tomorow. She asked us both to go with her. She's scared out of her mind. And I feel like a shithead because I really have no idea what to say to help her feel better. I'm pretty worried for her too.
