I just finished up with my first festive gathering of this season. It's an annual gingerbread competition, this was the 25th but I've been involved for the last 12.
I've always used kits and this year I decided to make my own... I don't have a proper mixer and I used a recipe that was in Oz's. Math and mixing by hand, not as easy as I had hoped. LoL
So, as you can see, it's not like I made it easy. My initial plan was based on Dark Side of the Moon but my pyramid was way too large.
Retro spaceship it is!!!
The real creative/competitive men bake their own as well and even have baked candy glass. They typically do most of the work at home and just do the final touches at the gathering. At least they were really impressed with my bowl, asking baking times etc. Using small bowls would be a great idea for ice cream!!
Well, it's a fun start to the season and I have to add a couple of annoying neighbors to the mix.
