No huge enlightenment today, and frankly I am thankful for it. Just a little indegestion from an overabundance of cheese in my diet yesterday, and maybe a touch of a hangover. Probably nothing worth posting online. A little more coffee, then to work.
The whole dating life, as opposed to the partnered life is different. The biggest difference to me is that you have to be your own cheerleader. When your partnered, they do that for you, but you cant expect them do that for them after you break-up.
Sometimes I feel that is what Jennifer wants me for, why she calls (although not in the last couple days. thankfully) she wants me to play that role. Im ok with it when she says "Im sad" or "Im upset", but when she starts dissecting the relationship and blaming me, I can't help there. Everybody needs to complain about their ex, if you have no complaints then why are they your ex? But once you break up, your ex isn't the person to talk too about that anymore. I can't be the sympathetic ear who says " yes, Duncan was an asshole". Frankly I don't know why she expects me to fill that role.
I am not saying that I am blameless in the break-up, but thinking about what your ex-partner did after the breakup isn't productive. Venting is one thing, dwelling is another. After the break-up the important matter is to figure out what YOU did, because (most likely) your ex wont be in your next relationship, but you will always be there. Everytime, every date, every kiss that you have will always be there. And you can't change people; I dont think. You can only effect yourself.

Back to back drinking nights bad...hurt head very bad...oww
Great night out at the bar. The best part about Wednesday night night drinking is of course going to work Thursday, but I can start work whenever I want, so not so bad. How is your day going Yuri?
So I love that bar (the matchless) and I love that neighborhood! Even though the G sucks (in a NY sense, you should all try to live in a city where public transit stops at say, 10 or eleven PM for awhile) . There was a great little Japanese restaurant that I had dinner at down the street that had good sushi (the rice was a little warm. I like that.) and they served chicken teriyaki on a skillet. My waitress seemed to believe that it was essential that my green tea glass was always completely full at all times.
The bar- cool OS motorcycle vibe with a bartender who was playing Built to Spill and 90s Pop-Punk. The pool table was small, but good, and the best part- they had chalk! Who was there: tmronin, (till he had to go take care of his sick wife), smellinoftroy, livingoutloud, her sidekick John, and yuricakes. Apparently we're a subset of SGNY ("SGNY- n00b"?, or "SGNY-dorks?" I don't know), cause we always seem to end up hanging out together mid week since we met. Maybe we should be "SGNY- cant wait to Friday to get plastered."
Anyway, cheap drinks, good music played at a volume that allowed conversation, good vibe, friendly bartender. Just a night at the local pub - the local that it took me three hours to get home from. Worth every second.
LOL and I are talking about going to Enid's across the street to listen to a DJ on Monday. That will be my last night in town for at least a month.

I'm proud of myself and that's all that should matter.
My brother is having the same problem with one of his exes. He finally told her not to call him anymore because he couldn't deal with it.
Have fun drinking this weekend, and have one for me, or 4.
