*** NOTICE! I may have mistakenly blocked some of you in AIM. if I did, I'm sorry-- try me again now! ***
i just got back from the best concert i have seen in years... it was the most close and intimate show i think i have ever been to, but it was also completely light-hearted and funny... endearing, charming, loving, glowing, boy do i sound like an idiot! it was in an old church, so it was like being in a small cathedral, the audience was all sitting on the floor, noone was talking on cels (or even amongst themselves), everyone was just sitting and enjoying and swaying along... it was fucking wonderful...
"even though i'll never need her,
even though she's only giving me pain,
i'll be on my knees to feed her,
spend the day to make her smile again.
even though i'll never need her,
even though she's only giving me pain,
as the world is soft around her,
leaving me with nothing to disdain.
even though i'm not her minder,
even though she doesn't want me around,
i am on my feet to find her,
to make sure that she is safe and sound.
even though i'm not her minder,
even though she doesn't want me around,
i am on my feet to find her,
to make sure that she is safe from harm.
the sun sets on the war,
the day breaks and everything is new..."
"things seem so much better when
they're not a part of your close surroundings.
like words in a letter sent,
amplified by the distance.
possibilities and sweeter dreams,
sights and sounds calling from far away.
i didn't know you then, now did i girl?
i couldn't hear you singing softly to me.
i didn't see the brave girl so near to me.
i wanted a mystery that couldn't be solved.
i wanted a puzzle with pieces missing.
i wanted a story that couldn't be told,
only the fishing part of fishing.
and now i find
it was you all the time.
i'm in love again-
but it's too late now."
the KINGS OF CONVENIENCE. they're from norway. their album, 'quiet is the new loud' is perfect. and i got to go backstage and meet them, and i also got to see & hang out with several old friends... i'll feel high from tonight for weeks to come...
