you should all go out right now and buy, beg, borrow, or steal the cd 'faces down' by sondre lerche. he's a 19 year-old kid from norway, and this album is amazing. his voice sounds uncannily like donovan's (and the female voices on a few duets are way too lovely for words). the music reminds me of what beck should have been, the promise that beck never really lived up to, along with a little bit of cornelius, but all done in a pretty traditional pop singer/songwriter format. if that makes any sense at all. www.sondrelerche.com has some song samples. i love this record!

i decided to blow off some afternoon chores, and went to the park to sit in the drizzle, listen to some cool free DJs and watch some cuties shake it down. one girl in particular totally had the michael jackson moves! as the rain picked up, i walked home, slow and umbrellaless, listening to some good music and not minding the rain in the slightest. and i soon found myself in the middle of a torrential downpour of spectacular proportions! i couldn't see a thing, or even breathe! i finally found my way home (the park is only about five blocks away), and as i walked in, a neighbor was on her way out of the building, and apparently wasn't aware it was raining. when she saw me come in the door, she looked at me like i had just walked out of a plane crash! ha haaa! i am soooo soaked! all in all, a pretty sweet afternoon!
