We just wrapped a kick ass 16mm shoot. Everything worked like clockwork. Not to toot my own horn, but I was on top of pre-production planning, the rewrites on the script were funny, and we had lots of time to setup all the equipment before hand. Of course what really made the production so wonderful was Orali's acting. She played a crazy bag lady and delivered the lines with such perfection. The only directing I had to give her was blocking. I'm on a high now from this shoot.
Also on a film note, I got my 16mm neg back from the telecine today. I was doing this whole Wang-Kar Wai thing were you shoot at 4 FPS and optically print to 24FPS. Well the footage kicks ass. It makes me want to shoot another 140' of something. I just need to find a pickup truck.
Well, 3rd to last radio show tonight. 3 papers left in my college career. 3 days till the Mifflin Street Block Party.
I had an idea for a Tshirt. It could say Guerrilla Filmmaking, and have a picture of a Gorilla with a camera and one with a boom pole. Huh? Or how about a shirt with the simple slogin "Stop living life, stay home and watch more movies." or "hh:mm:ss;ff Living life one frame at a time"

Who likes BBQ?
Orali does.

My WiFi seems fine so far. I bought a Netgear wireless Ethernet hub and have only used it around the house so far (it's going with on the trip, natch) and it works great. I also went to my local Starbizzle to join up for the HotSpot deal and my laptop worked good there, too, although the signal strength meter was not full-tits like at home, where it stays pegged.
Hmm. Maybe ask Muller in the Mac group - he knows this shit cold. Good luck with that.
And your shoot sounds cool - I love those kind of optical printing tricks. Post it online when it's done, if you can - I'd love to see it.
Cheers!
That's the best answer to "Favorite Films" I've seen yet.
