Worked tirelessly all weekend to finish up some writing for another Exalted book. Got a total of 3.5 hours of sleep all weekend.

*snore*
isadore:
I can relate. I'm about to do something similar tonight! It's all because I procrastinated in my homework for the 2-D art class I'm taking. I have to do a bunch of cut paper pieces & then paint 3 of them! I probably won't sleep much tonight... frown

Oh! I'm so jealous! I still *heart* Echo. Sigh . . .

Still spring cleaning . . . I don't know weither to envy you or pity you because you have an attic. (The idea of spring cleaning a house aposed to cleaning an apartment, q2uite frankly terrifies me! eeek )

Do you get free comics? *stari of curisosity* What is Exalted about? Got a good link?

What a nice suprise. Echo asked to be my friend. smile

Man, I saw this guy today on the bus who was so metal, denim jaket with the sleeves ripped off and scarf tied across the forehead and and tight leather pants and all. He was about 45, has a mane of frosted blonde hair and was wearing a faded and worn AC/DC shirt. It was...

Hee! You talk like my boy! (I learn about computers through osmosis.) surreal

Yay!! Your back! *squishiestarihug*

What's been up man? Two Bowie shows!! Excuse me if I say "rad!". biggrin I was reading another SG journal (can't remember whose-bad brain), but she just raved about the Bowie show that she saw. That man is still so fine. Sighs . . .

Do you know what trogdorian means?

Sort of disappointed in the grammys last night. I know that it doesn't really mean all that much, but it would be nice if some lesser known bands got some attention. Last year the Flaming Lips won a grammy for Best Instrumental (which was the only thing they were nominated for), but didn't even get a mention on the show. I guess it happened during...

You know what I'm noticing again and again? The Bush Administration uses a pretty underhanded tactic when dealing with the public. I know that, in general, this is nothing new. From day one they've been notorious for staging all of their press conferences and other pulic appearances. But there's something else. It's brilliant in a way, though it only points toward the collossal amount of...

Wow. Being in school again is something of a colossal drag. I have zero time for anything. I don't even get a lunchbreak at work (that's when one of my classes is). Now I'm just reading Lovecraft stories on the bus and listening to cd's at full blast through my headphones at all times. I barely have time to check out SG every day! Sorry...

a little known fact about aquaman - he likes to be berated. call him names, and he's yours forever. even better, if you can work in a "your mom is a..." reference once or twice. he's a sucker for those.

Hello, friends. smile

I hope everyone had a nice holiday. I spent much of the time visiting relatives and such, which really wasn't as painful as usual, so all in all I'm doing pretty well.

Things *are* changing for me, though. Today I'm going back to school. It's only part time for the next year, but I'll be going full time after that until I finish...

Hi there! So sad that Bowie had to reschedule. frown The flu has been killer this year. Ugh!

I love your god-self list. Yay for all the things that make us feel so whole and free! biggrin

Right now I'm kind of between books. I have been reading the Lotus sutras a bit, and I devoured the two Lucifer books that I bought recently. I have been contemplating tackling Paradise Lost, but . . . not quite ready to dive in yet.

You have degrees in everything that I want to study!!! *education envy* I would SO become a professional student if I suddenly came into lots of money, which would free my time and efforts from this thing called work.

Good to see you around, oh very first of my SG friends.

*smiles and hugs* smile

All better, finally. Now I have to rush through two freelance assignments in two weeks, while also taking two days off to go to Philadelphia on the 10th to see David Bowie (front row!).

It should go pretty well, though. Hopefully the Exalted fans out there will get into it. I can't really talk about the other project, except to say that it's a crossbreed...

Good luck with those deadlines, and I must proclaim my massive envy for your upcoming David Bowie viewing. *seethes with envy*

My holiday was very laid back and yummy yum yummy. Yay! Sorry that you were on the lay-low with the in-laws. I have the same feelings regarding family do's, but it extends to not just the in-laws but my rents, etc as well. (Am I the suckiest or what?!)

Glad you dig the pix. Hopefully, I will update regularly as I just got a sweet, sweet new camera (5 mega pixel!). Now if I could just remember to take it out with me . . .
starisea:
Thanks for the happy birthday wishes for the boy. smile

When o'when will Trogdor update? I am all a quiver to hear how his David Bowie gig went. (lucky, lucky you!)

Bloody hell. I've been sick for a solid week. Somebody find me some air to breathe, please.

Stupid influenza.

Isn't being sicky so completely sucky? Best wishes for feeling better soon. My house is a less sick house and it's sooooo much nicer, but we were living on Advil cold and sinus during the day and brandy, lemon and honey at night for a week. *sends feel better vibes*
ed:
Yipes. Uhm. Find someone to channel their breath into your mouth? I hope you feel better soon. :>

Something weird happened this morning. I got an email from the people at the Columbia House record club. I joined out of boredom a few years ago, got my thousand or so free cds, and then didn't buy anything again. Just not all that impressed with their selection.

Anyway, back in September I noticed that my membership was up and that I had until the...

TROGDOR! BURNINATE!

Ahem, that Columbia House shit is a scam. My brother got burnt by them years ago. Don't they just charge you and send CDs to you automatically unless you go out of your way and tell them not to?
ed:
Free CDs? You lucky bugger.

Aaaaand. My comics? I'm tying up the ends of my class project here, which was entirely non-comic related (well, not the work we had to do). Hopefully soon. BLAH.

Went to see Blue Man Group last night. I enjoyed it a lot, which was a nice surprise, since I really only went to see Venus Hum open for them. The crowd was a bit of a letdown, though. There were people talking really loud behind me during V.H.'s set and pretty much throughout the main show. Not music fans, I'm guessing.

In any case,...

Hey man

thanks for the post last week. I'm SO jealous that you got to see the Flaming Lips play with Beck - that would've been awesome! I've actually never seen either of them live... sigh... one day perhaps. I DID just get to go see the Red HOt CHili Peppers, though, so that was cool!

I'm glad you like Courtney Crumrin and Hellboysmile
starisea:
Hi again. smile Thanks for reasuring me about Paradise Lost. I am actually quite excited about starting it now. It should be the perfect winter read. (Of course, I am usually juggling about 6 books at once. Hee hee!) I will keep you posted on my impressions if you are interested.

Thanks again for the flattery of calling me a writer. I mostly see myself as a voracious reader, who dabbles with the written word. I'm so glad that you seem to enjoy my silly scribblings.

I completely share your view on comics. The combination of stunning art and intriguing stories seems to somehow get overlooked by the "established" literary community.

Let's see . . . interesting books. I have quite a few signed first editions of Gaiman stuff, lots of books on fairy tales and mythology, religious texts, books on decontructing religious texts, an sprinkling of poetry and philosophy, and some gorgeous art books (I have a fondness for most anything published by Taschen or Paper Tiger. Mmmmmmm . . . pretty pictures.) What about you?

Hope you had a very coolie All Hallows Eve. skull

Here's hoping my lethargy goes away soon. I have two writing deadlines coming up and have about 15 measley pages written in total.

That's killer, and it means I won't be sleeping much for the forseeable future.

Also, just found out that some of the work I did a few months ago will likely not see publication, as the comic book properties it's based on...
