So I left VC for the weekend and headed down south to Minneapolis/St. Paul. I'm really stressed out here and, from what I'm told, the sophomore year is when you're most likely to lose it. I'm trying to keep a good grip on my mask of sanity. Equipment not working, employees leaving for 3 weeks, bass players disappearing, and that goddamn ending to Karma Police that just won't come out damnit! I have a lot on my plate and, on-top of all of this, I ended up in the middle of a nasty break-up and all of the drama that goes along with it.
So I left all of my obligations, recording contracts, and planetarium shows behind and took in a nice and relaxing weekend. Went out to the Plastic Constellations and Doomtree on Friday night at the Triple-Rock. Same bouncer that kicked me out on St. Patricks day was there and while he didn't recognize me, i sure as fuck recognized him. Did a little drinking and made it back to Connors. I met up with Sarah Howard from High School at the Electric Fetus Record store mid-Saturday and ended up getting a bite to eat at the Uptown BGC. Unfortunately, bad service seemed to keep following us through-out the cities this particular weekend.
Started drinking at Connors and the people began to pile in. It was nice to see TheAmazingDave and Mr. Dolan, i will say that. Drank like a fish and swam past most of my commrades. Dave poured the shot that sunk me for the night and, due to the intensity that the liquid was expelled from my body, my blood vessels in my face exploded so it looks like i have a huge rash on my face. As far as I'm concerned, this is just my body showing how i feel on the outside, rather than the inside.
Driving back sucked since it was really fucking icy past Alexandria.
Some habits, no matter how disgusting they appear, become appealing after one is about to lose contact with reality or coherent thought. Turning off the logical parts of our brains for fun and profit!
This week I have to finish this recording, get back into my marketing class and start handing in assignments, START my online class so my professor will stop e-mailing me, perform on wednesday with both garage bands, record the thursday concert here, select voices and have a read-through for the planetarium show, and go to Bismarck Friday and Saturday for the All State Men's Choir thing. And then Sunday involves driving to Fargo to watch the Superbowl. Is it any wonder that I'm not chain-smoking in front of the music building?

I wish lyric merely summed up GF, but it honestly sums up my life. I realized just yesterday that, even after almost 5 years in the TCs, most of my dreams are set in Grand Forks. It's an unpleasant sort of awakening.
I need to be drunker for this, and by this I mean, of course, my life.
