I'm trying to come up with the right word for my last few days, but it's not coming to me. I can't even come up with a new word for the english language to describe it. Scrumtralecent isn't the right word, but it's the first that comes to mind.
NIN:
Waited in line for quite some time Tuesday while waiting to get in for the soundcheck. We were let in and proceeded to have a special little performance just for our group of fifty-one. As my cohort explained, the Xcel is cooler when there is no one in it. Three (technically four) songs and the meet and greet thing. Got my ticket signed by everyone except the new drummer. Had an amusing conversation with Trent Reznor. Not to gush, but you have to understand that I've been a fan of his since I was in fourth grade. He was warm, friendly, had a good handshake, and very funny. He laughed at my comments, even the star trek tng reference (which connor will never let me live down).
Set list in case you're curious:
Love Is Not Enough
You Know What You Are?
Terrible Lie
The Line Begins To Blur
March of the Pigs
The Frail
The Wretched
Closer
Burn
Gave up
Eraser
Right Where You Belong
Beside You In Time
Wish
Sin
Only
Reptile
Suck
Hurt
The Hand That Feeds
Head Like A Hole
After the show, we got drunk. I drank "Stille Nacht," a 12% alcohol-beer. I'd never drank something named after the german version of Silent Night. Or rather, anything named after a christmas carol. I've never had a "Whose Child Is This" wine cooler, but I have had a "Bitch, he ain't yo babie's daddy" gin and tonic.
Wednesday:
Drank and did homework amongst other things. Mike Doughty sold out before we got there so we just drank and drank (mmm... carbombs in a stomach with no food!). I was crestfallen. Erin and Rebekah, it's been far too long since seeing the two of you. Stayed up way too late drinking and talking about nothing at all. God I miss Minneapolis.
Thursday:
Stumbled out of bed, possibly still drunk, and took off to Valley City while trying not to vomit. Made it to Oedipus practice, rocked out Thriller and Poor Side (i'm recording the next practice methinks). Wasted Tuition's rendition of "Like a Stone" is getting better and better.
Now i'm prepared to fail my Geo test. I've just looked over my drunken papers from yesterday. Pieces of fucking art!
