In Buddhism, there is no such thing as "waste."
The people that we know at present and with whom we are creating bonds with, Our friends that we have contact with at present, All are people with whom we share a profound (karmic) bond that lasts throughout the three existences of past, present and future.

Daily Encouragement for December 21
Buddhism holds that everything is in a constant state of flux. Thus the question is whether we are to accept change passively and be swept away by it or whether we are to take the lead and create positive changes on our own initiative. While conservatism and self-protection might be likened to winter, night and death, the spirit of pioneering and attempting to realize ideals evokes images of spring, morning and birth.
Our lives are infinitely precious. To not attain a state of absolute happiness in this lifetime is a great loss. Our Buddhist practice exists so that we can attain indestructible happiness. We must fight to the fullest right now, not sometime in the future.
I'm feeling pretty good today although i'm fighting the beginnings of a cold. I think i've killed it though cause I feel good now. I'm glad taht xmas is close. i just want to get it over and done with and then move on. I'm a Snake in chinese astrology so i like new years better. It's a time to peel of the old skin and start fresh.
i've been riding my bike a lot and am glad to have that excercise. I have all next week off and plan to start my accupuncture applications and financial/scholarship aid apps. I'm not looking forward to it but I'll wake up tomorrow after a long nite tonight and start fresh. I'll start fresh every morning till the day i die. That's Honim Myo (from this day forward) japanese.
Blind Melon (and it's a bright blue saturday....)
