This is our last goodbye
i said goodbye to my best friend today, in a letter. i couldn't bring myself to talk to her. i will miss her. it's sad how things, no matter how good at one point, inevitably fade. it's things like this that make you never want to get close to anybody ever again. it's such a sad state of affairs. the mistrust, the uncertainity of whether or not the other person feels the same way you feel about them, and holding others that you care about to a certain level of responsibility toward maintaining the friendship. it has to be a perfect balance, otherwise it will inevitably fail. and it's incredibly hard to find such equilibrium with someone -- especially that which will last forever...
it's kind of like a watch. you can set it to the correct time, and for a while it will be in sync. but give it a while and it will eventually fall out of correct time.
