by the way, next time, as per usual in the RRMVIT, we have some surprises and sidebars. a few years ago, we had the super-heavyweight mini tournament (won by the Balrog) and this year we are having the team tournament. 8 teams in 2 on 2 battles. the finals of both tourneys will take place at the same big event with 6 other big exhibition matches.
but before we get there, we got to pare these guys down a bit. moving along, rules are same as always...

Analysis: both of these guys are competiting in their first RRMVITs. not a bad way to break their cherries. both are tactically sound. there will be no wasted moves in this one.

Analysis: Alex went through the first two rounds with relative ease but Vidal showed how dangerous he can be with a win over Derek Vinyard in the previous round. its going to be close.

Analysis: here we are again with another WTF match. Mola Ram is our Cinderella story this year, having come in as a 14th seed and making it all the way to the Sweet 16. Stansfield pulled an upset over Tyler Durden to get here as well. one will move on showing you never know whats going to happen in the tournament.
7. Bill the Butcher - Gangs of New York vs. Max Cady - Cape Fear

Analysis: for the second straight round we have a battle of Scorsese villains. on paper they are just about dead even. no fear between them. no mercy between them. these two old dogs are going to show the kids how its done.

Analysis: i have a feeling these two might get along in a different place, different time. at the very least, im sure there would be some respect there. in any case, this is not one of those times. these guys are going to hurt each other.
up until this point, youve been seeing the field of players in groups. but all thats left are the ones above. and after this round, we will be down to the Elite 8! and with the team tournament coming up, things are going to get really interesting!
