Over in Dwam's blog, I posted a piece of this. I hadn't thought about this passage in years, but it is perhaps the most important thing I read as a child. My Grandfather gave me Tom Sawyer, Huck Finn and Innocents Abroad when I was 8. I remember re-reading this passage over and over. It taught me that was is called right, is often only...

Maybe I should start making loud monkey noises at guys who catcall.
Somehow I don't think they'd get it.

And there's something really wrong about this, but the first two artists I can think of as in response your entry are Goya and Bosch.

Well said. SG is the place I go to at the end of the day to (mostly) de-stress. It's full of really incredible people, you just have to look in the right places.

Disorganized religion is awesome though, right?

Doesn't it though? Anything involving shooting zombies is good!
IV. Playthings of the Wind
1. Four Preludes on Playthings of the Wind
"The past is a bucket of ashes."

THE WOMAN named To-morrow
sits with a hairpin in her teeth
and takes her time
and does her hair the way she wants it
and fastens at last the last braid and coil 5
and puts the hairpin where it belongs
and turns and...

Oh, I'm trying to do all that. I am indeed.
Gets easier every day, because I remind myself of the times when I did let fear control me completely, and I never want to go back to those times again.

Hahaha!! That's awesome!!
However, that combination isn't called the "Enamel Buster" for nothing. Watch out or the dentist might take you to town on this new favorite dish.
Also, in case you forgot, here were the other (actually healthy) combinations of food I was telling you about (or haven't yet):
- Green beans with Ketchup (a dash of pepper and hot sauce is great too)
- Brussel sprouts with Ketchup or hot sauce
- Cauliflower with ranch dressing (anything really, but everybody knows ranch dressing makes any vegetable better)
- Steamed cauliflower with Molly McButter (it's a fake, low-calorie powdered cheese you either love or hate)
- Fresh cucumbers dipped in soy sauce or a thick salad dressing (Caesar and Italian works nicely)
And one thing to note with all of these vegetables is that if they're to be cooked, I highly recommend those new vegetables that come frozen in a microwaveable steam package. They're a hell of a lot healthier and don't have that gross, oversalty taste that comes from the canning process. Just my opinion though.
Anyway, your kids are totally awesome and hopefully they like some of my tips!!
Take care dude.

I have this job. I get up between 4:30 and 6:00, hit the gym, fly home, and then plow through the daily blood sport of Atlanta traffic. I field between 5-8 calls on the way in and flirt with my blackberry like a pilot trying to roll the hard 6. I have 1200 employees under in my command chain and a web of 60 odd...

Some of you know that my sons have aspberger's syndrome. You may also know that my youngest is bipolar. What does this mean? It means they do not see the world as most people do, which is a source of wonder and horror to them and to me and my wife.
My oldest blithely plows though life and social situations. He has literal blinds spots....

I am sorry to hear that things are tough.. :S
I dont know anything about aspergers, but my closest friend is bipolar. Things were tough for him through high school- but now that he has the right meds he's a support for other youth going thru the same thing and a public speaker at schools.. and only 25!
Not everyone is destined to be what is thought of as successful by everyone.. but i think we all have our place.. and i think that you'll find that they both find their passions and make huge contributions in their lives, thanks to your support. so.. i think you are doing your best and thats what matters. but I am only gaging that by the way that you write.. and who am i? some random internet person..
anyway, thanks so much for giving your love to my latest set!!

Haven't Blogged since September. Life has been busy I guess.
I have been stunned by how fucked up the world has become.
Not enough energy. Not enough food. Too many people. Too much religion.
Looks like the species is about to wreck its habitat. Given our current complete disrespect for science, I am not too surpised by this. Thee have been people pointing to the...

They do indeed pay us for our extra time, but what they offer is hardly training. It's mostly various departments bitching about their problems. But whatever, I get an extra hour of pay and a free bagel, so I can't complain that much.

Thank you, so much.
Stumbled across this and felt I had to share.
There Will Come Soft Rains
by Sarah Teasdale
(1884-1933)

There will come soft rains and the
smell of the ground,
And swallows circling with their
shimmering sound;
And frogs in the pools singing at
night,
And wild plum-trees in tremulous
white;
Robins will wear their feathery fire
Whistling their whims on a low
fence-wire;

Pretty much bliss, yup. We have our issues (mostly around health and money) but otherwise life is pretty damn great right now. I blame it on Angus and on me giving up drugs. Drugs are bad, m'kay?
You need to watch this movie:
Why We Fight.
It breaks my heart to see us in this way, but the truth has power to transform. We become Rome.
Contemplate these words:
Eisenhower's Farewell Address to the Nation
January 17, 1961

Good evening, my fellow Americans: First, I should like to express my gratitude to the radio and television networks for the opportunity they...
