Well yesterday I actually did some work at work! ZOMG My biggest problem with my job is that I work too fast and get things done before there's more to do. I have to depend on my boss to give me work to do and he's as lazy as me...if not more. The way things work is he's an engineer and I'm his Drafter/Designer....which means he does the math and I do the drawing. I really like some of the problem solving that comes along with my job, but lately most of my work has been "copy this old paper drawing onto a digial format" and who the hell likes to translate scales all day? My work isn't hard though and I like the company I work for although I am under paid. I would like to set up an interview with another company to see how much I could get somewhere else, but I'm a loyal person and I want to spend more time here (to see what my yearly raise will be like). I've only been working in my field since April 10th....The starting wage was 13$ and hour and I've heard that after 2 years of experience I should be up to around 20$ an hour....that makes me rich by no means, but no one ever said I wanted to be rich.
I just want to be happy at home and at work.....although some times I think I'd be more happy working with animals. I love animals and nature...I used to be able to name almost any insect in the local area...I even knew a lot about the trees. I could still name all the mamals and most of the normal birds, not very many reptiles and all the trout (not many other fish around besides trout) look close to the same. I don't think I ever knew the right names for the frogs and toads though....although toads are a very distinct form of ugly cute. Have you ever seen a toad eat a ground worm?
One rainy evening right before fall my girlfriend and I went searching for toads around my house....we found three or four of different shapes and colors. Next thing I know we find an extra large earth worm....before I really say anything my girlfriend has that worm in her hands and we decide to feed it to one of the medium sized toads we found......oh my god it was an incredible site...the toad grabbed the worm in one "hand" and started shoving it in. I swear that worm was half the size of that toad. Needless to say he ate it all. Did you know toads use their eyes to swallow....they push their food down by drawing their eyes back into their moth/throat.
And speaking of seeing an amazing eating habbit. The first time I saw my chameleon eat I watched him for an hour. It's not so amazing to me anymore but whenever somebody new comes over they get amazed by it too...for those that don't know a chameleon's tongue is about 1.5x the length of it's body and it's sticky on the end. So he just shoots his tongue out and pulls that cricket in for a much fest.
Anywho I had to come to work early today, but I get to leave early...it's already been an hour so only 8 more (counting lunch) to go....I work 8-5 usually...although I'd rather get paid for a half hour lunch and work 8-4 or 9-5. We don't get "breaks" but we're not tied down around here. Well I've said enough for now...hope everyone has a good day today!
