I went swimming today for the first time since I broke my wrist. I would've gone sooner but I guess I'm kind of lazy!
Afterwords, in the changing room, a couple of old timers said good morning and inquired as to whether or not I'd enjoyed my swim. I replied that I had and that I hadn't been for ages and they said they could tell since I had been going so slowly!
Not only do I get grief for being old, from my younger comrades, I also get stick from the elderly.
Sometimes you just can't win.
I've got a lot of respect for those old timers, however, I want to be like them when I'm pushing 60, down the pool everyday slagging off the youngsters.
"You wouldn't get that in my day"
