I guess you could spot me from miles away
The one who it would not take much to betray
The one so nave and
So easy to deceive, but
The lies tasted sweeter coming from your lips
The truth disappearing under hushed fingertips
The same game I have lost a million times before
This is a game I do not need to play anymore
The game where it always hurts in the end
The game where I always forget to pretend
The game where I always get too attached
The game where the skill is always mismatched
The round has passed where there is nothing left to lose
Only the deception you bring was already transfused
It would not help me at all to forfeit the prize
For the reward to the defeated is another fistful of lies
There you remain with a smile at your cheek
Sugar coating the falsehoods you are ready to speak
The game has been won, you have beaten my score
Here I am left waiting, ready for more
I am not for certain there is anything more I can take
I can still try as my heart burns at the stake
I grow more inpatient while waiting for the end
Perhaps this match I should begin suspend
My spirit has been beaten more than it can take this time
I am afraid is about my turn to resign
It's never about how hard you played
It's only about the masquerade
So now that all of my time outs have been used
From this life and the game, I shall be excused
And maybe for once it will not hurt in the end
And maybe for once I will not have to pretend
The one who it would not take much to betray
The one so nave and
So easy to deceive, but
The lies tasted sweeter coming from your lips
The truth disappearing under hushed fingertips
The same game I have lost a million times before
