Time to update. I hope you all had a wonderful Easter. Mine was great until my son decided he wanted his ear split almost in half. Well, I might be exaggerating a bit but he actually did cut it clean through and we had to take him to the ER. He got 7 stitches in the ear and one in the puncture wound to his head behind his ear. Yes, I mean he cut it clean through. OMG I NEVER want to see something like that. But, being the gross individual that I am, I took pix of said disgustingness and will add them to my folders later. (I do not have them resized yet and I do not know how to take them from my camera and put them in my journal. Yes, I know there are FAQ's that deal with this very thing but I don't know what the hell those are saying. If you want to see them, I'll let you know when they're in the folders.) Anyway, I'm keeping the girls home today because they were exhausted from the night we had last night. Thank GOD for feerlessfreddy who can stay calm in any situation. I, on the other hand, was a mess. I just wanted to hold him so tight and cry. I think I may have cried a bit more than the boy did and he's the one with the huge slice in his ear. They had to sedate him and I'm so glad that hubby was the one with him for that. I'm sure I would've lost it a million times over! We were at a friends house for the weekend and when we were in the waiting room, I started to throw a bit of a hissy fit and decided to go back to our friend's house and get our daughters and all the stuff we'd gotten for easter and our laundry which she was nice enough to let us do. So, while I was doing that, they took back the boy and when we got to the hospital, he was in getting stitched up. I went back to see them and I've got this really nice dr. telling me all this stuff but all I can hear is that Charlie Brown voice that all the grown ups have "whahhh whwaaahhh whawww whaw" And I'm looking at my son, who has his eyes open but he was sooo not in there and he's shivering uncontrollably even though they've got several heated blankets on him (product of the sedative I guess) and I just say "I can't see anymore of this" and walk away. I"m sure the dr. was still talking to me but I was so gone. I sat in the waiting room with the girls for a bit longer and then went back in and sure enough, they were done and he was cleaning him up. I listened to the aftercare etc and then hubby went out to stay with the girls for awhile and I stayed with boy until he started to wake up. Well, in the middle of this he tries to sit up (he couldn't but he tried like the dickens lol) And he looks kind of through me with these HUGE pupils and starts going RAWWWRRRR RAAAWWWWRRRR. A nurse walks by and says "He's hallucinating" and I go "yeah it seems like it" and he says "No really, he's hallucinating". Okay! I'll take some of what he's having if you don't mind lol. Anyway, we're there for awhile and then he starts waking up more and more and asking for his daddy. Hubby comes in, I go out and we wait a bit longer. They come out, I go get the car, we come home and boy is awake and having a good old time. He then, sits up and leans in to me and says "Mom, remember when I was in the Dr. office and you had two eyes on your eyebrows and one on your nose?" Uhhhhmmm what? Yeah, he kept saying over and over how I had my two eyes, then two in my eyebrows and one on my nose. 3 extra eyes. That was some seriously good stuff they gave him! lol Anyway, he's still sleeping and the girls, who were supposed to go back to school today, are also still crashed. They were exhausted from last night. I tried to wake them up even shaking them etc and nothing! I know they're not faking it either, they're not too good at faking sleep. Sorry for the novel. I'm done now. I hope you all had a great Easter. Ours was really really great until "The Great Ear Debacle" I might start calling my boy Evander! Hugs all and couple of these

And gosh...I'm so sad to hear about your son, but glad he's doing well! It must have hurt you more than it hurt him to see him in pain... Well wishes from me!
