Aye, tis the day for the wearin' o' the green. I don't even know what the hell that's supposed to mean. I'm not drunk yet but from the sounds of that first line I must be. Anyway, Happy St. Patrick's Day. Yes, I am Irish. I have a Scottish last name but it doesn't count becasue I married into it. As for my maiden name, it was Jones but that's misleading too because I took my step dad's name. Actually I'm Sullivan by birth but didn't know it til I was almost 22 years old. That's a long drawn out story and I'll wait until I write the book to let you all in on it
. No, I'm not really writing a book but, DAMN I have a good story to tell if I ever did want to.
My son has a little infection in his eye. It's not pink eye or anything like that. He's had a clogged tear duct since the day he was born and I've been back and forth between drs. and specialists etc. and for one reason or another, they can never take him in at whatever office we take him to. Well, it's really clogged now and it's causing a red ring and kind of a rash around the eye now so I have to give him antibiotics and benedryl and he's not thrilled with it. I have to bribe him to take it all. Anyway, it'll be better soon and maybe, just maybe since he got this infection, we can get the opthalmologist to see him this time instead of sending me on a wild goose chase that takes 4 months at a time. Oh yeah, that's how long it takes to get an appointment with these assholes every time they send me to another dr.
My daughters are arguing so much lately that I have no idea what to do with them. I've threatened to smack their heads together and they know that my threats are just that, empty threats. We go to family therapy but sometimes it feels like I'm the only one who wants our family dynamic to get better. I'm glad to be going to the counsellor and he's helping ME I just wish everyone else would get on board with it.
Alright, I've gone off on a tangent and I have to be done now. It's time for me to get the kids up and about and ready for school. Have a great St. Patty's Day.
