OK, not much for writing but here goes. I went to Greece last week on a short R&R and had a pretty good time. The only problem was that I pretty much spent the week wishing that my wife was there to see the cool shit with me. She has always been interested in archaeology and I got to see a lot of ruins; most of them were from around 150BC. It never ceases to amaze me how we can actually walk in place where ancients walked. In fact, the theme of the trip was to walk where St. Paul walked. In short I went to Thesilonika, Philippi, and Kavala. I got to see the acropolis overlooking where the Battle of Philippi took place (for those who may not know, this is where Brutus, Cassius, Octavian, and Augustus fought the final battle of the senate wars that erupted after the murder of Julius Caesar).
The coolest thing about the trip is that I thought of an idea that I plan to continue wherever I go. When I got to Philippi I searched for a post card that had as many pictures as possible on it and spent the day with my buddy on sort of a scavenger hunt to place ourselves in each of the pictures. We got all but one before we had to go so I am pretty satisfied. If you like yall can take a look at some of these pictures in my album.
