Usually when people find out that I like to go cemeteries, I usually get asked three questions:
1. Why? Because they are peaceful. Some of the markers are nicely carved. I've learned more about history looking stuff up after a trip to a cemetery.
2. Who's the most famous person I've come across? Hard to answer.
3. What's the most unusual/odd/ wird marker? Another one that's hard to answer. Lots of markers from 100 years ago might seem odd today. While a certain marker might have been odd 100 years ago.
One marker that usually people take an interest in is from Allegheny Cemetery in Pittsburgh.
People seem to be fascinated by marker with a sharks head on it. People will ask why a shark. Don't know, maybe he just liked sharks. Or he could have been a fan of the move Jaws.
