Hiram and Barney Davis were billed as Waino & Plutano, two wild men that were captured in Borneo. They were neither wild men or from Borneo.
David & Catherine Davis were the parents of them. Hiram was born in England in 1825. The family moved briefly moved to New York. Barney came along in 1827 after which they moved to Ohio. Both were small in size. They only grew to about 40 inches and weighed 45 pounds a piece. Three more children were born without issue. David died in the late 1840's and Catherine remarried. Both had one more child.
Hiram and Barney had microcephaly. Lyman Warner started to promote Hiram and Barney as Wild Men Of Borneo. Both worked for Lyman Warner and his son until 1880 when they worked for P.T. Barnum. Both are said to be capable of lifting 300 pounds. In their career they earned $200,000. Hiram Warner got sick in 1903 and died in 1905. Barney died 7 years later.
