Snook was a professor of veterinary medicine at Ohio State University. He also won a gold medal in the Men's 30 meter team military pistol event in the 1920 olympics.
Snook started having an affair with an OSU student, Theora Hix in 1926. It came to a halt in 1929 when Hix was murdered. The trail quickly came back to Dr. Snook. The trial was big enough that the New York Times was covering the trial on the front page. The jury took less than 30 minutes to find Snook guilty. On February 28th, 1930 snook was put to death in the electric chair.
Snook's headstone only lists James Howard. Due to the nature of his crime, his last name was not listed to help deter finding the grave. His grave is in section 87, lot 243. It's also said his grave is haunted.
