My big hobby is going to cemeteries. I've learned more about history from going to cemeteries than probably school.
Green Lawn cemetery is one of the big cemeteries here in Columbus. It was established in 1848 and has over 147,ooo residents.
One of the most visited, if not the most visited is the grave of George Blount.
Georgie is in section x near the back of the cemetery.
The marker is almost always decorated. The pics are from mid March and show how some people have decorated his marker. Georgie slid down a bannister and head first into a stove. He died a week later from the injuries.
Back behind the big marker is the little one for the boy.
Here's a link to a story the Dispatch did back in 2009.
