Another strange dream last night.
I was in a compact car with some girl, who was driving. We were trying to go offroad in it up 60 degree slopes. She was worried we couldn't make it. I told her to try anyways, that it wasn't so bad if we flip over and crash. We started to climb, but the car wasn't strong enough to make it. I got out and walked away, finding myself on a path with my extended family all going to a golf course, my Dad leading them. My cousin Joe put his arm around my shoulder and asked me if I wanted to go on a boring trip or build cherry bombs to throw at the club house. I shrugged him off and showed no interest.
Suddenly someone shouted a little challenge, the first person to knock off the sparrow nest on the outside of the club house (which was 3 stories tall) would win a prize. One person from our group threw a cherry and hit it on the first try. He was happy, but said sorry for winning so fast. I threw a cherry, just to see if I could hit it. My cherry had a split in it, so when I threw it, it broke and ricocheted back at me. I deflected it with my hand. Cousin Joe laughed at my quick reflexes.
Our group kept moving, now through some light woods along a wide path. I lingered behind, and noticed bright orange apes in the trees. I waved hello to one but it got scared and started throwing oranges at me, as did the rest of the troupe. None of the oranges really hit, but I got scared and hid in a bush. They lost track of me, so some of them came down, patrolling the path. I followed them, watching as they pooped orange poop which matched the color of their coats.
I then heard the voice of some scientist. I can't remember his name, but it sounded familiar. He started narrating about the apes, like we were in a documentary. He explained that the orange apes use their feces to build slings, which they hang upside-down from in the trees. He described the year he spent living with them as one of them.
He was with the apes, on the ground, foraging for food, when a wolf showed up. All were taken by surprise, but the scientist felt the need to protect the female with her babies, so he jumped on the wolf. Suddenly, I was the scientist, trying to keep my hand around his muzzle so he couldn't bite. The wolf was clever though. He would slip through my fingers and then bite my thumb. He kept doing so as I wrestled with him. Eventually, he tired and escaped, but I lost a lot of blood through my finger. None was spilled on the ground, so I guess the wolf drank it as my thumb was mostly between his fingers.
I didn't want to leave my troupe of orange apes, but I was too dizzy to climb the tree again. Someone came to my rescue, but I didn't understand that I only had 15% of my blood left. I realized I had been taken to a hospital then I woke up.
The images in this dream feel very strong, though I have no idea what they mean.
