when I was growing up, I was OBSESSED with video games. I remember being that weird girl in primary school (approx age 7 for those who don't know the UK schooling system) I'd hang out with the boys with my Game Boy Advance and play Pokemon sapphire at break time and lunch time.
and before the days of the GameBoy Advance, was the days of the GameBoy Colour! I had so many games for this portable amazingness that I had to share with my sister, but she really wasn't into video games anyway so it was mainly mine! :D
my favourite game on my game boy colour was definitely Super Mario Bros! and there was this other looney toons game that I loved but I still can't remember the name of it :(
I remember the game boy colour era a lot better than the Advance era. Mainly because it was the first thing like it we have ever seen (yes i did join in the party late) i even have my old game boy colour tattooed on me!
I also remember that at my childminder's house. (My parent's used to work a lot) they had an original Playstation and I used to play for hours on end, made the evening really fly by! My favourite game from this era was definitely Spyro!
I loved this little purple dragon so much! and the graphics used to be so terrible! I remember there was an impossible boss battle on this game, but their ps1 broke before I could beat the boss :( and thus ended my ps1 era.
fast forward a few years, and my parents got me a ps2 for christmas!!! I was overjoyed! They're are two games on the ps2 that I distinctively remember, as they did have such an impact on my childhood and early teens.
The first one was the first ps2 game I ever played on my brand new console, and needless to say it did not disappoint. That game was Jak & Daxter - the Precursor Legacy.
The Graphics (at the time) were amazing! and the story of these two friends really stuck to me.
The second game was one that I discovered later in life as an early teen. Kingdom Hearts.
I was absolutely in awe at the combination of the two worlds of Disney & Final Fantasy. (I was also a disney fanatic as a child) the storyline of this game is so complex but really moving and emotional. I'm so excited for the 3rd game of this series to be released very soon in the future.
there are still so many games I've missed! but I think I'll conclude here and say, Yep the video games I played definitely made me the person I am today, and I love them for it.
