my best friend is turning into someone I just don't know. It makes me sad.
I've known him since we were 15, and now he's 21, and just about to enter that selfish wilderness that besets all men of a certain age. His life revolves around himself, and the countless vacant women he's idly chasing to put off thoughts of the one he idealizes and claims he loves (but he hardly knows her). He is becoming opinionated, and although he listens to counter-arguments, it's only so that he has time to formulate his original opinion in different words. Meeting up with him has to be booked weeks in advance, and Im made to feel like I should be honoured to have his time. If I'd have met this man for the first time today, I don't think I'd have pursued a friendship.
So do I leave well alone? Do I wait for him to come back? I'm fed up with chasing him to see him. I don't think we have that much in common anymore. I think the idea of loosing him upsets me more than loosing him.
