I'm back from my respite in Rochester, NY. The DCA World Championships were great (especially the show put on by the Hawthorne Cabelleros), PAETEC Park's seating much less so. My Gramma was ecstatic at having both her middle son (my father) and her one & only favorite grandson under her roof for several days. I thought it was damned neato as well. I even exposed my father to Star Wreck. He enjoyed it immensely.

Needless to say, the news I (tentatively) have a house made her even more excited. The second thing she would tell people is, "My grandson is buying a house!" I would have to jump in & explain I've only signed a stack of paperwork agreeing to tentatively purchase said house if/when it is inspected & I have a mortgage.

Speaking of inspection, that was done tonight. Some cosmetic problems like caulking, grading, tarring around the vents, etc., as I expected. The boiler does need a thorough cleaning & a new circulation pump. Two, maybe four hundred dollars, tops. Chicken feed. Otherwise, the house is a solid bet. Once the radon test is completed Friday, the process begins in earnest.
