Today I inaugurated my grill. Fire-grilled meats are spectacular.

(Yes, I know, I have used it a couple times so far this year, but they don't count. Why don't they count? Simple: I didn't spend any time by the grill reading while I waited for my food to cook.)

In other news, things are still grand. biggrin

My stupendous weekend starts tomorrow at noonish. It's going to be grand. biggrin

(I do not plan on getting any moving violations during my journey either. I want to reach my destination lickety-split, but that's no reason to get tagged. Patience is a virtue.)

It'll be nice to have a distraction from the incessant "Will I still have a job tomorrow? Next week? Next year?" running...

I'm not sure which movie is more cringe-worthy: Lost Boys--The Tribe or Repo! The Genetic Opera. The former shits on a fine camp classic while the latter is horror porn with a catchy soundtrack.

I've had better V-D weekends. skull

Some highlights from the weekend:

For the first time in almost 12 years, I received a speeding ticket. While the last one was $56 (four points) for doing 76 in a 65 (US 40 outside Granby), this one is $120 for doing 78 in a 65 (Ohio Turnpike). Such a splendid stop. The trooper was out of the car before I could get my window...

It was Monday in Redford. Baked Potato Night. I had been home for almost two hours when the beeping of my oven echoed through the house. The potatoes were ready.

I opened the oven door, fork in hand. Those potatoes sure looked good. As was standard operating procedure, I poked each potato with a fork both to remove the potato from the oven as well...

I have a feral cat problem. There are at least four felines who caterwaul outside my window every night. I think the local tom sprayed my stoop too since it smells like cat piss near my mailbox.

I do not like cats. ARRR!!!

In a feverish bit of weakness during my recent battle with self-induced food poisoning, I fell into the Facebook quagmire.

Yes, I am ashamed at my lack of fortitude. This makes four social sites I regularly update.

In other news, it's bedtime. Two more working days until my first, honest, after-work weekend of 2009.

While the Extravaganza was a bang-up, rockin' good time (see margate or Dryad for details), I do have one over-arching question: What the hell did I eat that gave/is giving my guts such terrible fits?

I think it was either the reuben at the restaurant or the apples for lunch. I'm leaning towards the apples since my stomach did a slow, extended roll shortly after...

With my remaining two days of freedom, one question rises to the top of my mind: Can I justify splurging on both Minuscule and The Sweeney? Of course, this one question begets several others.

Is it worth spending 33,44 for the former and 50.42 for the latter (TVA/VAT not required since I live in an enlightened, low-tax society), plus a currency conversion fee of...
