Sometimes my videogame-playing friends really piss me off. They have no tact. My girl friend was having her housewarming party on Friday, a bunch of people showed up, everything was going well, it was "jumping" and there were tons of alcohol. Then someone took out their 360. Then someone else. They went into my friend's bedroom and hooked it up so they could all play Halo3. Suddenly a decent party became an Xbox party, with my friend hopelessly bored by the outcome of the night, her room invaded, her living room invaded, by a bunch of boys. Now, if it were me, I would have kicked them all out and made an emotional scene, because I really think that's rude. You do not go over to someone's house and, during the middle of their big party, organize a Halo3 session. Finally we left and hung out with our friend who works at the gas station. But the whole thing left a bitter taste in my mouth...especially my friend's tactless comment, "this is going to be a videogame night!" I mean, if you all want to play Halo3, do so, by all means. You are more than free to invite people over to your own house and tell them all to bring their copies. But show some fucking respect and keep it away when someone's actually nice enough to invite you to their party.

I know there's a time and place and all, but in general, the amount of gaming some people do is ridiculous.

That's the kind of thing that constitutes violence. I'd rather party face to face anyway. Seriously, the game can wait.
