as many of you have asked, "why aren't you pink yet?" I have decided i'll share the reason here, now:
Yes I applied, and I got a response from Missy asking for a couple more pictures. At that point, I decided I had better sit myself down and really think this through - one final time, before going balls out on it. I thought about school, my career goals, my financial situation, etc.
I have been interviewing here in AZ at two news stations for a possible slot interning in front of the camera in the next couple of months. Although SG is an EXCELLENT way to gain exposure for many things, I'm afraid it wouldn't benefit me. If I got the job, I probably won't be able to cut my hair how i want, or get that tattoo i've always wanted - at least where it could be seen (muhahaha). I'm okay with that, because if I have the chance to do what i've always wanted to, I'm going to take it and pray that it's everything I hoped it to be. If word got around of pictures SG style were up for grabs, my rep would probably be shot, and i'd lose my job. To me, it's just not worth it, because of the direction my life is leaning.
However, I realize it's worth it for other girls, because they can rock it with confidence and use it to their advantage later (and some of them are getting opportunies already!). I absolutely LOVE SG and the opportunities it offers hundreds of girls who have that special twinkle in their eye. I love the message it sends. For the first time, fake tans, breast implants, bleached barbie hair, 90 pound girls and louis vitton is the minority image on an immensely successful adult site.
every time i see a new set go up, i feel so proud for the girl who graced our day with something DIFFERENT.
who knows, maybe if i make it at as a reporter, I can be that weather girl with a little bit of flavor - a taste of a revolution where expressing yourself by your own standards in front of the camera is actually something SMILED upon. til then, i have to make it there first.
