I've considered that, but I hate teaching. I have absolutely no patience and talking about shit I already know bores me. I know, I'm so tough to please!
katya:

I'm responding in English because I haven't slept and I'm lazy.
It is terribly important to have our own beach. I'd go so far as to say it's essential to one's sanity. That is why my husband and I are escaping to Israel. His family is there, in a city that suicide bombers ignore completely, it's sunny and beautiful and has amazing falafel. Assuming I learn Hebrew well enough, I will be able to make a career out of my knowledge of Russian and English (LOADS of russkies over there) and I will never ever have to strip again.
And I am a shiksa, actually. My husband is just a big Jew.

Here's something I read today, and I was wondering what your take upon it is:
"If the work of God could be
comprehended by reason, it would
be no longer wonderful, and faith
would have no merit if reason
provided proof."
--Pope Gregory I
I think mankind is divided into two schools of thought, People of Faith and people of Thought/Reason (I like to call...

I should have known that no-one would take a nude model's existential crisis seriously.

Indeed. That is why man invented God in the first place, because he simply could not wrap his mind around both the immensity and the intricacy, the sheer wonder of life. Man needs a God, a reason he can accept without comprehending, because it makes him feel safe in a big unknown universe.

Today is national friend day. You've been tagged as one of my friends! (I feel sorry for you).
I consider you my friend.
Ps... It's not a chain letter but you should pass it on to your friends!

Yeah, apartments in Moscow are getting crazy, but if you look on the internet of course you're going to pay five times what it's worth. You just need to walk around the streets and look at the obyavleniya.
swiftsure:
Actually, it's changed a lot from that time. Generally now, the prices offered on the net are what you have to pay. It's gone through the roof.
cheesy:
Wow. Quite a mess.

I love that they're blurred out. You should see what young ferrets can do unattended.
Monday, 17th of April (Easter Monday)
A truly blessed day, I awoke drank the last of my coffee (the stores all being closed due to the Easter Holiday I have no coffee left in the cupboard!), and headed out to the beach. Whilst leaving, Lily my landlady, informed me that there was an Easter Parade and that I should go. While I did most sincerely...

If only I could swim in the sea regularly, my mind would be much calmer and content. Beautiful.

it's shocking what one can find in Detroit. Not to mention, most people who list detroit as their hometoen live in the greater Detroit area- where the money is.
andvari:
What is that gun pointing at? Looks like the ferry dock.
Whenever I tell people factual things, for some bizzare reason, they never believe me. I am forever looking into the same dull, blinking, glassy-eyed stare, the drooling, slack-jawed mouth and hearing the same answer:
" Dude, you're, like, uh, like, kiddin' me, man"
Whatever it is I tell them, it's the SAME THING!
"Dubya is actually very intelligent" or "Enron is a blue-sky company" or...

How sweet!
I miss my iguana!
I miss my iguana!
(Since it's Good Friday, I am not of a particularly creative mood, it's raining out and everything is closed on the Island, and I don't particularily wish to post anything; I reckon these lyrics from one of my favorite song writers should suffice for a post)

Tips for the Derby:
1. Mint juleps aren't as good an idea as they sound, at least when they're made with Early Times and it's 9 a.m. But once you get the first one down they get easier.
2. Don't pick horses based on their names. You'll win a lot of laughs by betting on Showing Up and Sunshineandbeer, but not a lot of money.
3. Wearing fetish gear in the paddock really pisses off the rich people.
